A complete textual concordance of the Himnario Bautista and the Himnario de Alabanza Evangélica  is now available with title and hymn tune indexes making it useful with any Spanish hymnal.

The concordance consists of 235 pages with references to hymn number and stanza of each of the 530 hymns in these two hymnals published in 1978.

INTRODUCTION

The "CONCORDANCIA HIMNICA" has been prepared to help the pastor, minister of music and worship, or whoever (1) plans worship services or (2) studies hymns. Following is a description of the characteristics of this particular concordance that should be taken into consideration when using it.

The words are presented in alphabetical order. Beneath each key word are the numerical listings of the hymns in HIMNARIO BAUTISTA and HIMNARIO DE ALABANZA EVANGELICA in which the word appears. The number after the "period" indicates the stanza in which the word appears for the first time. The word may appear several times in the same hymn but only the first occurrence is mentioned in the concordance. For example, the word "abismo" is found in hymn 227 for the first time in the second stanza. 

Concerning the verbs, the key word is listed in its infinitive form. The conjugated forms of the verb are listed below it in alphabetical order. 

Concerning words that have use both masculine and feminine gender forms, they are generally grouped together. Plural forms of nouns and adjectives are grouped together below the key word in its singular form. Since participles of some verb forms are occasionally used as either nouns or adjectives, they may figure below the key verb or the key noun or adjective, according to each case.

The titles of the hymns as they appear in  HIMNARIO BAUTISTA and HIMNARIO DE ALABANZA EVANGELICA, are included in an index on page 190. The hymns are listed in numerical order from 1 to 530, in order for the reader to identify the hymn title according to the numbers listed in the "CONCORDANCIA" without having to consult the hymnal itself. In this manner, the "CONCORDANCIA" may be used as a reference not only for the hymnals mentioned but also for any other Spanish hymnal.

This concordance is based on the contents of  HIMNARIO BAUTISTA and HIMNARIO DE ALABANZA EVANGELICA. Neither of the respective publishers (Casa Bautista de Publicaciones and Editorial Mundo Hispano) have had any editorial responsibility in its preparation.
