Merry
Christmas from our house to yours.
Where has this year gone? It seems we just got last year's
Christmas decorations put away and it was time to get them out
again! Between Carroll Institute, family, and church, we stay
very busy. While 2012 was a year of many travels, this year we
stayed closer to home and had several visitors. Our kids did the
traveling this year, and a couple of them moved, so we had
several visits from our grandkids while their parents were away
or busy. We had "Muskrat Cousin Camp" for a week in July with
our four oldest grandkids along with occasional visits from the
younger two during that week. We went to museums, parks, movies,
and had a great time!
Our only trips this year
included traveling to Teccoa, GA, in March to serve as pianist
and organist for the Baptist Church Music Conference. Andy also
attended the conference with us. In July, we traveled to San
Antonio to represent Carroll Institute at the annual meeting of
the Baptist General Convention of Texas. We made a brief trip to
Missouri to visit family in August.
We enjoyed having Nancy's niece, Christa, for a brief visit in
March. In May, Bruce's dad, and his sister and her family came
for a visit. At the end of June, Nancy's sister and
brother-in-law spent a week with us. We share the same wedding
anniversary date, June 26, so it was great to be able to
celebrate together this year. In November, we had the privilege
of helping to host the seminary choir of the
International
Baptist Theological Seminary of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Our children continue to do well and lead very busy lives. Danny
participated in the Houston, Fort Worth and Chicago marathons
this year. He and Sara downsized and refurbished a small house
in the neighborhood where Sara teaches and Luke (age 8) & Claire
(age 6) attend school. Ben returned 4 yrs. old the middle of
December and continues to enjoy "Brain Gym." In June, Andy
accepted a call to be the
Associate Worship Pastor at Plymouth
Park Baptist Church in Irving, TX where he leads the Spanish
worship services and serves along with the minister of music in
the English worship ministry. After settling into their new
home, Heather is teaching piano again while keeping up with
Jacob (age 3) and Braeden (age 1). Amy and Danny Ray stay busy
with their jobs and their work as distributors with LifeVantage.
Caleb is 3 ys. old, loves singing, and carries on conversations
as if he were twice that age.
In November, we moved Nancy's parents to a new senior
independent living residence that is just three minutes from our
house. It is so nice to have them closer and to be able to do
more for them. They are doing well for their ages. Nancy's dad
will be 95 in February. We look forward to celebrating Christmas
with our family and some dear friends from Argentina, Omar &
Vanina Randazzo and their children.
